The Rye in January Cocktail
This elegant cocktail is a combination of ingredients that strike me as being very "wintery": rye whiskey, the herbal-cinnamon taste of the Czech liqueur Becherovka and the pucker of grapefruit juice, rounded out with Cynar and absinthe.
The Rye in January Cocktail
3/4 oz. rye whiskey (Knob Creek)
3/4 oz. Becherovka liqueur
1/4 oz. Cynar
1/4 oz. absinthe (Absente)
1 oz. grapefruit juice
2 dashes Peychaud's bitters
Lemon twist (optional garnish)
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake until cold and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with lemon twist.

You're right. This is an ideal cocktail for a cold winter night. I think we're about to have one of those evenings tomorrow. Might I suggest another round of these drinks?
ReplyDeleteWell, we're out of grapefruit now, but maybe something similar?
